A Roman right foot sculpture. Handmade ceramics, fnished with a marble effect. The foot wearing a sandal with a lion buckle and straps.
Not a replica of any known statue hovewer mostly inspired by the foot of the Roman emperor Hadrianus, his life size statue was found at Sagalassos, an ancient Greco-Roman city in south-central Turkey. The right foot was the first fragments of this statue, unearthed.
The foot presumably belongs to a standing figure. “Piede Romano”.H: 4 in / 10 cm
